Pre-Conference Workshops

In addition to the main conference program, there are two additional pre-conference workshops available: Planning best practice waste education and engagement projects and Best practice waste management for local councils.  

Workshop 1: Planning best practice waste education and engagement projects

This workshop will step you through how to plan your next waste education and engagement project using best practice principles. You will become familiar with an easy and freely available project plan template you can use to plan, manage, evaluate and promote your next project. Using 'Right from the Start!' will give you the confidence to design waste education projects that not only educate the community, but also empower them to become active citizens in caring for our environment.

Workshop 2: Best practice waste management for local councils

This workshop is designed and directed at local council waste staff. Too often waste staff are tasked with a multitude of responsibilities that are complex issues. This session will include case studies and work-shopped examples of key areas of local council waste responsibilities. A comprehensive overview of responsibilities, financial matters, procurement considerations and how to set the domestic waste management charge (DWMC) will be presented in an open forum where your questions will be answered.
