Call for Abstracts - Now Closed

Thank you for your interest in presenting at the Waste 2020 Conference. 

The call for abstracts has now closed and all submissions received have been passed onto the program development committee for review.   
The first round of presenter invitations will be sent early February 2020 and the second round will be sent mid to late February.  All presenters will be informed of the status of their paper prior to 24th February 2020 when conference registrations are scheduled to open. You will be notified as soon as the review process is complete. Please be patient while this extensive process takes place.

Abstract Submission and Presenter Terms and Conditions

  • All abstracts must be submitted on the template provided (coming soon)
  • A corporate portrait photograph must be supplied at the time of submission. For successful abstracts, this will be used on the conference website and app and any other marketing collateral deemed appropriate by the conference organisers  
  • A 150 word bio must be provided at the time of submission. For successful abstracts, this will be published on the conference website, app and be used for chairpersons’ introductions during the conference  
  • You can update your abstract any time prior to the closing date by logging in to the submissions portal with your username and password (after 1st November)   
  • All abstracts received will be passed onto the program development committee for review and will be kept confidential in nature  
  • The program development committee is comprised of government, industry and association representatives  
  • The committee will be reviewing abstracts in January 2019 and a final decision will be made late February 2020
  • The successful submissions will form the basis of the conference program and will be notified late February 2020
  • If accepted for the conference program, your abstract may be published on the conference website and/or conference app 
  • Presenters will have the opportunity to update their abstract after they have been accepted for the conference program   
  • All presenters accepted for a solo presentation will be entitled to a one off $450 discount. This can be applied to their 1 day, 2 day or full conference registration rate and can only be applied once (The discount is not valid on a ½ day registration)
  • Presenters participating in a co-presentation, panel or workshop will be entitled to a one off $200 discount. This can be applied to their 1 day, 2 day or full conference registration rate and can only be applied once (The discount is not valid on a ½ day registration)
  • Co-presentations are to be a maximum of 2 presenters only unless it is a panel discussion or workshop   
  • Confirmed presenters will be required to register for the conference and pay the relevant registration fees where if applicable
  • PowerPoint presentations will be required 2 weeks prior to the conference  
  • Non-conforming abstract submissions may not be considered
