Greg Freeman - Conference Convenor

Greg has a background in environmental health and established Impact Environmental Consulting in 1997. Prior to that he spent 15 years in Local Government in NSW. Greg's specialist skills are in waste management, strategic business development and environmental event management.

Within waste management Greg works on developing waste strategies, new contracts, waste education programs, community consultation and researching alternative waste treatment processes.

Greg also has a keen interest in the strategic development of businesses, combining social, environmental and economic responsibilities with corporate life. 

Thomas Freeman - Managing Director

Thomas is Managing Director of Impact Environmental Consulting (IEC), having started at the company in 2013. 

His waste management expertise spans projects across Australia, connecting technical, regulatory, and community aspects. From grant management to landfill closures, and targeted training he's a versatile waste specialist. He seeks to balance bottom-up local needs with the top-down state outcomes.

Thomas is heavily involved in the planning and execution of the Coffs Harbour Waste Conference. 

Connie Button - Conference Director

Connie began working with Impact Environmental Consulting in 2011 as Conference Director of the Coffs Waste Conference. 

Connie has over 20 years’ experience in marketing, event management and managerial positions. Her core focus is the execution of the Coffs Waste Conference each year, but with her own Marketing and Event Management business 'Flametree Marketing & Events', she also assists other organisations with their events....the most recent being the Australian Festival Industry Conference.

Connie has a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Marketing and Management from the University of Wollongong, NSW.

Dawn Hallinan - Conference Manager

Dawn joined Impact Environmental Consulting (IEC) in 2007 after 25 years in NSW local government. 

She has vast experience in administration and is IEC's office manager and conference manager. 

Dawn has a Certificate IV in Business Administration and has completed a statement of attainment in Event Management. In addition to the Coffs Waste Conference, Dawn also works in conjunction with Greg on the development and sales of IEC's range of children's environmental educational story/colouring in books.

Kate Baker - Conference Assistant

Kate began working with Impact Environmental in 2022 as a Conference Assistant with the Coffs Waste Conference. 

Kate has a background in events management and administration positions working with local government, not-for-profit organisations, community groups and local businesses. 

Kate has a Bachelor of Business in Convention and Events Management.
